Reuse by consumers in the Netherlands
Data from 2021 and 2022
This report describes how the number of pieces and mass reuse by consumers was determined for the years 2021 and 2022. In accordance with the EU obligation, five product groups have been zoomed in: textiles, furniture, electrical and electronic equipment, building materials and other.
Within life extension, the reuse of products, goods and/or materials is one of the ways to last longer and thus contribute to the transition to the desired Circular Economy. Reuse is an act of reusing products or components that are not waste for the same purpose for which they were intended. In addition to the NPCE, the EU is also paying more and more attention to reuse. The European Commission’s decision of 18 December 2020 requires every EU Member State to monitor and report on reuse.
