Research on the disposal behaviour of consumers regarding electrical appliances.
This research focuses on how and where Dutch consumers prefer to discard their various types of electrical appliances, contributing to the circular economy. Distinctions have been made between large and small appliances and various collection channels.
The outcomes of the research reveal that Dutch individuals highly value making sustainable choices when it comes to disposing of old electrical appliances. However, if too much effort is required, this willingness to sustainably dispose diminishes.
Furthermore, the research indicates that the recycling center, the store, and the thrift store are the primary collection points from the consumer’s perspective. It is essential for consumers that large appliances can be picked up, and for smaller appliances, there is a well-established collection infrastructure through recycling centers and stores.
