Raw materials agreement

The purpose of this agreement is to draw up agendas for the transition to a circular economy. The Raw Materials Agreement contains agreements that the central government has made with other parties. These agreements concern measures to accelerate the transition to the circular economy. The agreement sets out three important objectives:

  1. Raw materials in existing chains are used efficiently and to a high standard.
  2. Where new raw materials are needed, fossil, critical and unsustainably produced raw materials are replaced where possible by sustainably produced, renewable and generally available raw materials.
  3. New production methods and products are designed circularly, areas are designed differently and new ways of consuming are promoted.

Five transition agendas have emerged from the Raw Materials Agreement with the following themes: (1) Biomass and food; (2) Plastics; (3) Manufacturing industry; (4) Construction and (5) Consumer Goods
